¡Buenas!

My name is Murphy Garcia, but most people just call me Murph. I’m a chicana printmaker and multimedia creative. Latin@ culture, human rights, feminism, and grief are huge inspirations for my work. I also love traveling, and find a lot of inspiration while in new places and in meeting new people. In my down time I enjoy dancing, hanging out in nature, trying new foods, sending mail to people, gardening, garbage picking and laughing until I cry. My life goal is to visit at least 10% of the world and my goal as an artist is to expose my community to processes of art that might not be well-known, and most importantly, help others see that art matters. Me llamo Murphy Garcia, pero la mayoría me llaman Murph. Soy una artista chicana y la cultura latin@, los derechos humanos, el feminismo y la pena son temas que me inspiran. También, me encanta viajar y encuentro mucha inspiración en los citios y la gente que conozco. Además, me gusta bailar, pasar tiempo en la naturaleza, probar nueva comida, mandar correos a mis amig@s, trabajar en el jardín, y reír hasta que llore. La meta de mi vida es visitar al menos 10% del mundo y mi meta de arte es presentar a la comunidad a unos procesos artísticos que no sean tan conocidos. Para que sepan que el arte importa.
